Dress Code & Etiquette
In order to maintain our standards, we would kindly ask you to observe the following dress code and etiquette. We consider that a four ball should take no longer than four hours for a round.
All Golfers
- Denim Jeans, tracksuits, cargo-style trousers or shorts, and sports shorts are not allowed.
- Golf shoes must be worn, soft spikes are preferred, but golf shoes are not allowed in the Clubhouse.
- Trainers are not allowed.
- Hats and visors must not be worn back to front.
Men
- Smart polo shirts or shirts with collars are allowed and must be tucked into trousers or shorts.
- Football, rugby, T-shirts or non-golfing shirts are not allowed.
- Tailored shorts may be worn on the course provided they are worn with either plain-coloured knee-length socks or white sports socks, which cover the ankle. Men may not wear shorts in the Clubhouse after 10 a.m.
Ladies
- Tailored shorts may be worn but must not be more than four inches above the knee.
- Shirts should have a collar whether they have sleeves or not.
- Sun tops are not allowed.
In the Clubhouse
Clean and dry golf clothes are permitted in all parts of the Clubhouse. After 7 p.m. men must wear jacket, collar and tie in the Clubhouse. Golf clothes are not allowed in the Harry Colt Bar. Mobile phones may be used only in the car park.
On the Course
Please observe the following rules of etiquette:
- Replace divots.
- Rake bunkers leaving the rake in the bunker facing the direction of play.
- Mend pitch marks on greens and aprons.
- Only wide-wheeled trolleys are permitted and should not be wheeled between bunkers and greens.
- Golf bags and trolleys are not permitted in the changing rooms or foyer.
